Gary:

It's not a matter of whether I'll be ready to make the transition to radio 
controlled trains, but whether or not I want to. I could go to DCC right now if 
I wanted, but I choose not too. I've got too many other things vying for my 
time right now, including building a prototypically operating model of a 
railroad in the late 1950's.

I also mentioned using track power to recharge on-board batteries. This would 
eliminate "time outs" for recharging
