Good point Bill, we should really avoid the self-flagellation over the more
"colorful" members of the S fraternity.

For promotion, I wouldn't even get into things like "runs better than HO".
Unless maybe the person is complaining about the way HO runs. I think I
mentioned before; build models, run them, have fun! Invite other modelers to
run with you, display models and/or modules at shows. If you are having fun
rather than bemoaning that you can't buy all the stuff available in other
scales folks are more likely to be interested.

I don't know what to do with the examples of dealers complaining or "cursing" S
scale. If it's a momentary thing with a normally good guy, I guess just say
"Have a good show." and walk away. If it is a regular thing, you might note
that S scaler's buy paint, styrene, scenery material, magazines and books like
any other model railroader, but given your attitude I'll be buying those things
elsewhere.
