If you dig out your old copies of 3/16's Model Railroading there was a 
two section series on nearly all the past and current trucks up to the 
publishing time.  Kent Singer sent me the trucks to photograph.  
Unfortunately they were run fairly small so the differences weren't 
readily apparent.

CD gauge did make some wooden trucks, but they also listed some metal 
side-frames back in the 60's.  I don't know how popular they would have 
been.  I think the only truck that we haven't mentioned that still might 
have possibilities would be the Permabilt trucks or Midgage might still 
have possibilities for those looking for some pain!  I have a set of 
archbars that were cobbled together with a fairly large block of 
phenolic material as the bolster.  Jack Troxell has reworked many of 
those old trucks and made them function quite well.
