I had an article in the 1/64 Modeling Guide a while back that described how to
eliminate the problems of backing passenger trains through complex trackwork.
My problem was too much slack in the Kadee couplers I use because passenger
switching is part of my operations.

I eliminated the problems with buffers so the cars shove each other directly,
rather than through the couplers, which would allow the car ends to snag each
other on curves.
