Gentlemen --
I know I "withdrew" from active posting on this e-list, but nevertheless I have
to comment on this thread. All the "I'd never buy that" comments are not
helpful. What the vendor wants is to hear from people who DO want the loco.
There are a couple of things to mention here... River Raisin's experience with
importing a slew of SP steamers has borne out that producing SP steam is a
winner in S scale. Maybe not for you, but certainly for RR owner Dan Navarre.
Therefore, I have to conclude that an SP Pacific is also a good choice.
The other thing is advertising. Most non-S manufacturers don't know how to
reach S scalers. No surprise. Maybe the best that can be done would be for
the NASG to take a role in offering to publicize new "S" offerings from
traditionally non-S vendors. If any of you NASG BOT members who are still
wondering what to do for the S community are lurking, maybe one of you could
take up this challenge.
