Bud's point (quoted below) about the trucks brings to mind a good reason for having a new model of a crane done instead of converting an old toy to scale... the availability of this type of trucks . If a new model were done, the appropriate trucks would surely come with it, and would therefore fill a huge gap in S scale that is, at present, very hard to fill , and can only be filled IF and WHEN you can find the brass Kemtron trucks for sale on ebay.
Therefore... I will cast my lot in for at least one 6-axle Bucyrus or similar crane.
