You have all overlooked the 6 wheel Buckeye trucks that were imported by OMI
(long wheelbase) and the two versions imported by RRM (short wheellbase).
Southwind Models' Jettie Padjett usually brought in extra trucks with his
models, so there might be some of those cruising around, too. Lastly, S
Scale Loco & Supply had them, and rumor has it they will be re-released
someday. FYI, if you had been reading Bert Cutler’s for sale emails, he
had a RRM set on his list a while back, and had you gone to the Sac’to
convention, I sold an OMI set in the auction.

Having said all that, the Bucyrus 250 ton crane is cool, and although I have
no need for one, I bet I couldn’t pass one by – especially in a kit form.
All it would ever be is scenery, sitting on a siding somewhere...

Have fun!

Bud's point (quoted below) about the trucks brings to mind a good reason
for having a new model of a crane done instead of converting an old toy to
scale... the availability of this type of trucks . If a new model were
done, the appropriate trucks would surely come with it, and would therefore
fill a huge gap in S scale that is, at present, very hard to fill , and can
only be filled IF and WHEN you can find the brass Kemtron trucks for sale
on ebay.

Therefore... I will cast my lot in for at least one 6-axle Bucyrus or
similar crane.
