Close, the new Walthers couplers are IFAIK their own design, and diecast like the Kadee #5. I bought a bunch when Walthers had them on sale. I like them, although I have not done extensive testing.
I bought them on the basis of Bob Nicholson's recommendation on this list, so I'm sure he will chime with more info than I can at some point. Pieter E.
