If y'all are talking about the Walthers Proto Max couplers, then I can 
chime in and tell you that I use them and like them:

They're my "fleet" standard until the Sergent couplers come out. Note, 
however, that the gear box holes don't line up with the ones 
manufacturers put in their cars/frames/bodies, so some custom and 
creative installation may be required (or just use the center screw hole 
only and occasionally straighten out the coupler box).
