What seems to be ignored by most is that one's reality is not the same reality for all.

The spread of modeler's prototype fidelity interests, in ALL SCALES, is based upon the standard bell curve distribution. On the left, you have the folks who run complete trains of Lifesaver tank cars. On the right you have the P:whatevers sanding down the rivets to make them more scale. The vast majority of the modelers fall into the middle of the curve where they seem to follow the serenity prayer.... Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference. And if I may be so bold as to add another line... and to have fun doing whatever I want to do in the hobby! Each of us choose our own reality and level of fun & fidelity in the hobby.

As with all things in life, construction criticism is a good thing. Write letters to the companies outlining the issues as you see them. Letters take time and effort, and the cost of a stamp, and in many cases are given greater consideration than emails and phone calls.

If any of you strongly feel that a company is not doing what they should for their future survival, try to get involved with that company, invest in it with your time and your money, and help to being about change. Or start your own competing company... the better mousetrap scenario is a driving force!

Whining, bitching, moaning, etc. on and on about the supposed faults and misguided leadership of a company or a group's modeling philosophy gets old fast and will not do much good on this list.

Take care
Bill
