I sent a couple of emails to Christopher Howard, President of Railflyer
Model Prototypes. for those that don't know, RFP makes a line of HO
scale diesel detail parts. They are very comprehensive with their
parts. Much like Cannon & Co. is in HO as well. I asked Mr. Howard is
RFP would be interested in considering starting a line of detail parts
geared toward the contemporary modeler in S scale. I mentioned that the
scale doesn't have anything like this for the contemporary modeler. I
know many of you are going to point out the line of parts that BTS has.
However, those only go so far. Those are geared more toward transition
era diesels and not so much for diesels of the 60's to today.
His response was very surprising. Here it is copied from my original email.

Now that we are doing our own tooling and machining, yes we can do
additional scales.

Now if this isn't progress and forward thinking, I don't know what is.
I mentioned to him that we may want to start with something that there
is absolutely nothing of in S scale detail parts. A generic snow plow
and a weed cutter snow plow. Start with those and see how the response
is. For those of you not familiar with their line of HO parts, here is
the web site. It's pretty cool what these guys have done and now we
have an opportunity to bring this to our scale as well.

Let's not throw this opportunity out the window. I would like to see
some interest in a new manufacturer that is willing to come to S and
produce their product. It's time we get the word out, and maybe we can
grow our scale just like HO did 30 years ago.
