Bill,

Did you go to their site and see what they produce? Having a model to fit their parts to isn't going to be a problem. A simple snow plow can be made to scale and will fit on any model. Yes I agree that certain things would be unit specific, but there's no chicken and egg here as far as I'm concerned. The scale is far behind the others in terms of availability and this would be a great opportunity to bring the scale up into some form of relevance in the modeling community again. Look at Railflyer's product line very closely and you will see the possibilities.

As for the die hard modelers, that's what the scale needs. Modelers, not collectors, but modelers. This will help to show that the scale is growing along with MTH's offerings in the future and what Jim King is and has been producing. It's nothing but a possitive. Hell it's at least a foot in the door and someone willing to take a chance on our scale. What's wrong with that. Just remember what happened to Athearn and Atlas when Detais West and Detail Associates came into the picture back in the 70's. The scale exploded!

Thanks

Michael,

Your efforts are good but.... In order for Railflyer Model Prototypes to release items like different style cabs etc they have to be made towards being fitted to an existing product, which as you have said is not made. From what little I know about "modern" even the A M SD60 is dated at this point, and what accessory items like a different cab would be commercially viable? Even if Railflyer Model Prototypes could be convinced to release a complete shell that still leaves the buyer with finding and fitting a drive for it -- something only the most motivated modeler would do..

You are in the chicken before the egg situation. Once the first complete modern locomotive is released building and growing on that era will be easier.

Thank You,
Bill Lane
