I've tried the large Accumate couplers. I bought a pack (2 Pair) just to evaluate. I liked the way they looked size wise, and the distance between the cars was really nice (sorry, didn't take a measurement, but it looked "right"), and no knuckle spring. I ordered a dozen more. (24 pair). When I got them on several cars, I was not impressed with their reliability. The cast on cat wisker springs seem to be way to stiff for reliable functioning. I had to ram some cars pretty hard to get them to couple up. S scale cars are heavy enough that you shouldn't have to "ram" them. They have been removed, except for the ones on the fronts of my FP7's for now. Bob Davis
