Pieter,

i agree with you. Lionel and MTH coming out with the SD-70 will open a new
front for more modern rolling stock kits that we will need. Will Jim be able to
keep with the flow.  too many kits are geared toward the steam era. Nobody
likes over stock.

Alan;

AFAIK, Jim makes as many kits as he has orders for, maybe a few more. No
hard-and-fast limitation (except a minimum).

If you are arguing that he should make additional stock for someone who comes
along later, you are asking him to pay money now to make and store things that
MAYBE will have a market in - how many months?

Several dealers to stock his kits, and can probably supply a few stragglers or
new comers to the scale.

Most SMMW kits are listed on a possible re-order page, and Jim will make
another run if enough orders accumulate. That's about as much as you can ask of
a small business. Even the big companies make defined runs of product; the
hobby shop probably can't supply a new Bachmann or Atlas locomotive released
three years ago. Lionel can't sell you a new U.S.R.A. Mikado from an early run
either.
