Interesting point. I detailed up an AM GP9 for IC, and for years, it sat half
done waiting for me to "get it right" and I think I have for the most part,
even though I bit the bullet left off the visors on the class lights that the
IC was fond of, but spent an inordinate amout of time getting the plumbing and
regulator on the air tanks correct. Plus rebuilding the pilots, adding grabs,
lift rings, yackity-smackity, bla, bla, bla...

On the other end of the spectrum, I had a pair undec AM GP35's from when they
first came out. These were going to be super-duper detailed CB&Q GP's. I
gathered all up the parts needed and placed them on the good old "Round Tuit."

Finally, I got tired of them kicking around, drilled out the AM horns, added
grabirons, lift rings, an almost invisible frame mounted bell and painted them
up for a freelance railroad from my dark HO past.

I'm happy with the way both projects turned out.

Now, all I have to do is finish the two Smokey Mountain boxcars I've been
putting off...
