Golly Earl.......
The underbodies are just the start. Then there is the interior. Tables,
chairs, silverware, food, etc. in the diner. Leather seat cushions in the cab.
Illuminated dials on the backhead. Genuine wood floor planks inside the
boxcars. Did you know that inside ceilings of some box cars were painted a
totally different color from the outside roofs? Try that and you will have a
truly unique model.
I just received a photographic essay from an O scale guy where effort was made
to replace the throttle linkage joint on a $5,000 brass imported articulated
with one that was more correct for the specific road being modeled. And this
was on the topside of the loco. I think the part in question less than 1/8" in
size.
I am certain the owner sleeps better at night knowing his throttle link is
correct. Wouldn't have it any other way, y'know. How is YOUR throttle
linkage? <grin> We all enjoy the hobby in different ways -- most of them
strange and unique.
