I think they have gone crazy and turned into zombies. Lionel came out with the Zombie car with one trying to escape from the car load of them. 1/64th; 3/16" = 1 foot ; high rail wheels, scale wheels. Is it not all "S" scale as in "HO" scale, "N" scale, "O" scale. I wish I had the room Brooks has for my layout. Then I would show how to hid most of the " operating accessories' I have. i STILL AM GOING TO DO IT. We are ALL interpretive modelers -- all of us use curves that are way too sharp. All of us have turnouts that are way too sharp. All of us model towns that are within spitting distance of each other, but we still think our trains are moving across long distances. Without a doubt, Brook Stover's layout is not only one of the finest S layouts, it is also one of the finest scale layouts! He effectively models an entire prototype and creates an overall modeling illusion that is both effective and very pleasing to look at. His layout is far more in keeping with the definition of "scale" model railroading than a modeler who hand lays Code 83 rail, but never gets to adding scenery or structures to his "scale" layout. Why, why, why does this group continue to waste so many words and thoughts trying to define what sorts of model railroading are more pure and more worthy of consideration????? Please, please, please -- if you can't post something on this forum that pertains to actual modeling, then please do not post!!! In some ways, this group is becoming more damaging to our hobby enjoyment than anything else. Have we all gone mad?
