Hi TC,

Thanks for the clarification, I had certainly hoped there was nothing afoot to
change the currently accepted NASG/NMRA "Fine" standards, but I tend to get a
bit edgy whenever I hear the words "change" and "standards" used in the same
sentence.

As far as adopting the NMRA Hi-Rail/Deep-Flange and the P64 standards, as long
as the majority of the NASG membership (and especially those actually using
those standards) can agree, then having one set of standards between both the
NMRA and the NASG makes sense.

That being said, regarding the High-Rail/Deep-Flange figures, are any
manufacturers (Lionel, AM, and now MTH) currently abiding by any of those
numbers? I seem to recall that in the past, the makers of Hi-Rail products
pretty much used their own dimensions. If that's still the case, will declaring
the NMRA figures "standard" actually accomplish anything? That's why I think
they also should be involved in the process.
