> Strange, Ive always used the gcc4 package (more precisely, the latest
version available for gcc4-core) and got no problems either with that
package only to builg Sage's GCC 4.6.3 or 4.7.2, or together with the
corresponding gcc4-g++ and gcc4-gfortran to builg Sage directly.
Okay, I'm noting that on a Win 7 box I just got my hands on (just for this
week) I'm getting exactly the same error message about mpfr-4 - failure in
the same place, in fact, in the very first compilation, it won't even do
bzip2. Adding the gcc (as opposed to gcc-core et al.) package doesn't
help. Adding the libmpfr-4 package solves things. I can't explain the
discrepancy to JP's experience. I have Cygwin 1.7.17-1 - I just installed
it less than a half-hour ago, so it must be up-to-date!
Also, just as a point of information, it turns out gcc (3) does not
install by default, I don't have it now.
