 Agreed. What I'm trying to say is: Despite the compiler wrapper being
 installed first, gcc will build itself internally without wrapper. But
 that is fine since gcc knows what it is doing (and we haven't thrown any
 bricks in its way yet via LD_LIBRARY_PATH)
