 @fbissey Right, all I do before checkout and make is sudo mv /opt/local
 /opt/local0. Extra gunk in PATH is generally harmless. I've been doing it
 this way for almost a year. Worked til a few weeks ago.

 I've pruned PATH anyway and am rebuilding develop branch after make
 distclean to get a clean start. This takes about 6 hours on a 2.4 GHz
 Intel Core i5 with 8 GB of RAM. (I've tried parallel make in the past, but
 it always crashes during build of sage). I'll look into the r config &
 clang if the error is still there, which I expect.
