Would you happen to have another, system wide, install of R? In any case
could you find and post "Makeconf" in the R building hierarchy

find . -name Makeconf
}}}
from /Users/uu1024/Git/sage/local/var/tmp/sage/build/r-3.1.2.p0/src/
should help locate it if it exist.
