Yes to both points - the only reason for the referee patch was to clarify
what I did, so its irrelevant to actually applying things, and I will look
over Volker's patch. Then hopefully either Alex or Andrey can review the
final changes.
I will try to check out Volker's changes tomorrow (January 23) and
summarize things after that, although family obligations might cause some
delay.
