OK, I've tested Alex's patch and I'm happy, I think Alex is happy, Volker
seems happy, so I am going to move this to positive review.
While Volker probably did the most work, and I probably did the most
reviewing, I think it would be fair to say that all three of us should be
listed as both authors and reviewers. This is an unusually large amount
of changes for one ticket.
