You are right -- I cross-poseted to sage-devel where this was pointed out
 to me.

patches. I have just updated 'GSL' (#9533). GSL is a much simpler package
I admit. I removed all patches. The new GSL package has built and passed
all self-tests on Cygwin, Linux, HP-UX, !OpenSolaris, OS X and Solaris.
(Sage does not build fully on HP-UX, but enough of it builds to prove that
 GSL passes all tests).

the time to test everyones updates on 't2'.

Well I hope someone is, but I'm busy with other things for the next 2 days
and then away for 3 weeks without opportunity to do Sage stuff.
