 I think your negative attitude towards this ticket is probably a
 misunderstanding. I believe that the gccwrapper does not only work with
 gcc (the name compiler-wrapper might have been a better choice).

 I think this can actually make porting a lot easier instead of harder.
 Because compiler-specific issues can be dealt with just once, namely in
 the gccwrapper. For example, most of the SAGE64-stuff could be handled by
 the wrapper, instead of the individual spkgs.
