Thanks for digging. I'm mystified too. As a state employee in Wisconsin,
I'm rather busy right now, so haven't had much time to look at this. I
will try the os.path option and see if that works. I know you don't think
it does, but as you say it makes no sense. When you open it with the open
dialog you are using a properly formed path. If I try the command line
with the malformed path it does not work, but does from the command line
with the proper path.
Maybe tonight or tomorrow.
