OK, I've moved the fix to the launch on cmd to the existing trac 9232.
The fixes in that trac will have to be applied before any fixes to the new
interface, but the new interface changes will now just be standard patches
as they will only touch tracked files. Please check out trac 9232. I
think we've got a complete fix.
I can now begin to work on addressing the notebook interface issues. Hope
to have a patch sometime today.
