Looks like Volker took care of all the old patches already. I applied to a
4.7.1.alpha1 that I had lying around then rebuilt all ATLAS using packages
I could think of: iml, linbox, cvxopt, numpy, scipy and R. I followed that
by sage -ba and run the long tests.
The only tests that failed were unrelated ones that failed before (german
tutorial that were removed from alpha1 in the end because they were
failing on this very machine).
So far it looks good to me on amd64.
