 Yes, I guess that is true, there is probably minimal savings by not
 building c++. I guess then as long as we don't add this to the critical
 path for most systems it should be fine. Do you have a current spkg that I
 could look at? I would like to see if there is any quick ways to reduce
 build time (e.g. disabling multilib on 64-bit systems).

 Same here (plus it compiles with clang, unlike 4.4.6, from my
 experimenting), however it adds mpc as a dependency.
