Volker and Leif: thank you!
When changing from using char* to string for the so-called "Cremona letter
codes" I noticed that my old function only catered for codes for numbers <
26*26,which had always been enough. To day I saw that for conductor
235200, there are 754 classes, so the ocdes go up to 3 letters
(cremona_letter_code(754)='bda'. So your remarks have already been
useful!
