Ashley! Patsy probably was only commiserating as we all do when fires break out anywhere irrespective of the cause & we always think of loss of life & property. But you are right Ashley, if rules & laws were in place & were observed, AND enforced, then there would not be such incidents/accidents. Sorry to hear about Gustav's son. I can imagine how the fires way up would affect Saligao ...& I am not staying there... but the smoke billowing out from a small or big fire here does affect us, depending upon the winds, even if we are on level ground. Even the smoke from the "Grills" outlets on the road gets my nose & eyes burning & starts off allergies for sufferers. Read your posting on the road suggested/proposed, or to be cut through the hills/slopes. Had heard about that before but didnt pay heed as thought this sort of ruling wouldnt get through. Looks like somebody is in a hurry now, ....10 years down the road! - oops! excuse me!
Hmm! looks like we will have every Tom Dick & Harry passing along our village & visiting the Salmona Springs on the way, if the "small/big shots" have their way...... Eric - I hope you now understand my discussion with you a couple of months ago & my lack of faith in things getting done as you envisaged.... whether the "75 years" is adhered to or not. One never knows!...the 75 years could be changed to 75 days any time & with the machinery grinding slowly, one would not have time to change nor stop anything that might take place within one's property, let alone outside it. Have a good day! Stay cool ..... cool heads & calm minds are able to think well & I am sure you all will do what you have to do for the benefit of Saligao.
