Dear Bonnie, I disagree that it is a question of education. Even the
most educated can be corrupt. We should see such issues in terms of
how effective and honest the "people's representatives" are in doing
their work. In addition, the true test is whether the long-term
interest of the village and her people are kept in mind.

Of course, I also feel we should not see such issues purely from a
middle-class/elite perspective. While some of us may not patronise
roadside eateries, the issues of affordable nutrition and creating an
earning potential in the village also need to be addressed.
