Hello SaligaoNetters,
Hope all are well in their respective niches. I can see that Dilip is😊 Dilip, your first line & last line - I like! Good for you Dilip, donate whatever & whichever books you would like to donate,(such donations have always been received well). After all, through the years, our ancestors donated books which I read, we donated books which others read & are probably still reading unless they exhausted the Library by now ... I am sure the books will be read, studied and appreciated by Readers, Bookworms, (studying was mentioned?) AND by the Saligao Institute. - that would take care of the "gratitude" part of course. Dont know about the "displayed in places of great prominence" - is that tongue in cheek? or....umm I wont say more since you requested us to be polite😉 ....just kidding, but your way of "igniting" is really apt, Dilip. We didnt need the books displayed as such, we just spent a lot of time looking for something, anything, we hadnt read....those were the days! We "zoroied" the Arrarim Road every Saturday. Actually, you are right, Dilip, not much on SaligaoNet these last few months. Read about the Garbage Day only. Perhaps we are supposed to stir things up a bit? Cant think of any other sugggestions......didnt Rico say something about having books at his place & helping with books donation at Lourdes Convent or did I get it wrong? Memory is failing!!! Anyway, from my experience (& I now say this as a Senior Citizen), reading is a wonderful habit, hobby ..... So, all Saliganvkars - just as Dilip proposes to do, please donate books so that our "Junior Citizens" benefit and our Senior Citizens can while away their time & derive enjoyment at the same time .....like I still do. By the way, if any of you have iinformation, please let me know if the following books are available at the Saligao Institute? -- Danielle Steele's "Winners", Mary Higgins Clark's "Pretend You Dont See"; "Where are the Children", "My Gal Sunday". An Author whose books I would like to read - Nicholas...oops! (memory lapse again), I think it is Sage or Sparks, and an Author whose name is same as mine but I have forgotten her surname. Awaiting......... Have a great evening! ........thinking of the replies to "stir" things up on this NET. Ciao Regards Annette From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Subject: [SALIGAONET] BOOKS Date: Mon, 27 Oct 2014 07:22:49 +0000 I see Saligaonet has lapsed into suspended animation once more, pending the next obituary. Thought I'd ignite things a bit by seeking suggestions for books I can donate to the Club Library. I shall be in town shortly and have 4 books that I think young village minds (and some elderly ones too) will gain much reward by studying. They are by Dawkins and Hitchens, and I am sure will be displayed in places of great prominence and received with much gratitude. Any other suggestions? Please keep it polite. -- -- Saligao-Net is at http://groups.google.com/group/saligao-net To post to this group, send email to [email protected] To unsubscribe email [email protected] --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Saligao-Net" group.
