I really liked the match between Portugual and France. The portugual
players were much better than the French.
Yes that was a good game! The Portuguese players were swift on their feet.
However, I noticed that they missed scoring goals because of their fetish
for passing & dodging right up to the goal area instead of shooting
(kicking) from vantage points farther away like the French were doing.
Anyway, win some, lose some!
I am sure you will all agree with me that for the refree's wrong discission
Portugual would have >reached the final.
Perhaps! A few mistakes & quirks, I guess.
Even for the final the Italy team was much better than the French team.
I dont think so. They were both good though Italy did have a good defence.
Winning on the basis of penalty kicks doesnt have the same class, charm &
meaning. I always feel it is a sort of let down after 90 minutes of play.
We have so much football in our blood but sad to say those who play
football rarely reach the >parliament ..
Yeh, right, if given a chance perhaps our Goa footballers & perhaps even the
Saliganvkars might have reached the international Pitch???
and as those over there are all old retired generals they prefer to watch
cricket as it is a very slow game while one will bat and others will be
chasing the ball.
Hey Albert! Dont say that. Cricket is not a slow game at all, there is
excitement, one needs just as much stamina, & also good eyesight & strength
to bat & field, precision with regard to bowling & batting. Actually you
used my statement with a slight twist. My statement has always been:
Football: 20 grownup lads chasing one ball & 2 grown up lads stopping it in
its tracks.
Gotcha! Ha ha!
The matches are over & it's back to our same old routine now, I guess
We are back at our grindstone after a relaxed weekend.
