I am not making much headway on this. I tried stopping the process
and restarting it with the exe. When it showed back up in the Task
list, there still was no User Interface. So at that point, I restarted
the server. When it came back up, I had the same situation. I stopped
the process and went to the Control Panel. The service was flagged to
allow desktop interaction and I attempted to start the service. After a
short delay, Windows reported that it could not start the service.
Grrrrrr....

Any further suggestions? Do I have to reinstall ServersAlive? If
so can someone confirm which configuration file(s) I want to keep before
wiping out the install directory or overlaying the installation
directory.

    Thanks, Mike

There are two options in the services control panel you can change it to

start automatically and tell it to use desktop interaction. That will
give access to the gui on the console. Or just end the process and
start it again by launching the executable. Could have been an
explorer crash which made all of the application icons in the systray
disappear.
