I think I've come up with a fairly practical method of making it possible to run speccy 128 programs on the SAM... it involves a plug-in box which has a 32K ram, a z80, and a certain amount of logic (and perhaps a sound chip). The question is - is there any point pursuing it? It wouldn't be compatible with the +2a/+3.
When you say any point in pursuing it, do you mean to sell it? If so, then I doubt there is any point, to be entirely honest with you - unless it was very cheap. As a project for anyone to build, then yes, I can certainly see a lot of interest in it.
Why do more spectrum owners not use the SAM? is it because of it not being 128 compatible, or is it because they can't use their existing spectrum hardware? Andy
As Robert said, probably a lack of availability would be the main factor. If only we could get a hold of a pile of SAMs to flog cheaply - anyone fancy breaking into Blobby's house? :) We know where he lives after all! Mowahahaha!
