| Duties & Responsibilites : | -This is a critical position providing an opportunity to execute a long-term system security technology vision. Final products will not only provide material value to Comcast but to the telecommunications and media industry.
-The environment is a highly technical engineering domain.
-Program is centered on security engineering in an embedded host hardware, operating system, and application development environment. Engineering support will be provided via multiple system architecture and engineering resources.
-This position will provide strategic program direction resulting in engineering work tracks and program deliveries across multiple internal engineering teams and externally, major industry partners.
Qualifications
Program leadership responsibilities will include:
- Feature roadmap development
- Engineering work track management
- Short-term tactical engineering plan development
- Organization among multiple and large engineering organizations
- Tracking, measurement, and reporting
- Communication to all contingent organizations reflecting goals, progress, and barriers
Program velocity is crucial.
- Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate experience exercising strong analytic and leadership skills:
- Interfacing engineering leadership developing realistic roadmaps
- Integrating roadmap and engineering requirements into project plans
- Interfacing multiple and large engineering organizations
- Identifying interdependencies to organize complex engineering tracks
- Tracking and measuring engineering performance
- Identifying and mitigating delivery barriers
- Negotiating project scope commitments and re-shaping plan definitions
- Ensuring engineering commitments continually align with roadmap goals
- Developing effective communication mechanisms to contingent engineering organizations and executive leadership
Fundamental requirements include:
- BS/MS in a management discipline
- 6+ years in project management
- Proficiency coordinating multiple and large engineering organizations
- Working knowledge of commercial application development such as an understanding of engineering lifecycle components necessary for high-quality deliverables
- Not required but working knowledge of a host engineering domain such as embedded systems, manufacture, and/or embedded application development would be helpful.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
-Software Development/Release Management Project Management (not web based PM - ideally embedded systems)
-Telecommunications/Cable background would be huge plus! Someone from Time Warner doing similar work would be a start.
-Must have STRONG communication skills. |
