We have seen a case in the past where the problem was due to a slight
clock drift between the two machines. This was clearly identified by a
constant negative slope in the graph of the buffer's length.

This is why I would like to see the full logs from which you posted an
extract later today to confirm or not that there is a constante
negative slope..
