Thanks, Steven,

I stumbled upon what you're suggesting yesterday evening:

> In the file tcl/search/header.tcl, changing the only occurence of B50-B59 to
> B60-B69 is all that's needed i think.

Indeed. Now, how should I proceed?

I suppose that means recompiling Scid, right?
Since this is a simple Tcl file, it might be worthwhile to make it
work like the scid.eco file.

Yes, but it becomes impractical quite fast.
Just imagine you play 1.e4 and just want specific lines...
A one-click-solution is what I need here.

Or perhaps a one-liner?
Seems that Scid's SF's source comes with Python and Tcl scripts.
I looked into spliteco.tcl and it might be what I need.
Either I tweaked that or wrap it in a batch file.

After copying the scripts to scid\scripts,
I could run this from the scid\bin file
(I'm on Windows right now):

> tcscid.exe ..\scripts\spliteco.tcl -v \work\scid\Caruana 50

There are three parameters for spliteco:
5 for A-E, 50 for A0-E9 and 500 for A00-E99.

Then all I need is to merge the databases I need and remove the others.

The use of these scripts should become a tip.

The pgnscid binary should also be advertized:
with a simple batch file, this works magic!

Since I surmise you are a nostalgic, Steven, I will disclose that I
followed this remark from Shane:

Thanks again,
