Well, as a librarian I'm also told that books are dead in a
few years. (Don't they tell it for, hm, nearly 25 years now?
Funny, there were never ever more books produced than last
year.) Actually, it is most unlikely that any new medium
will entirely replace an old medium. There're even papyri
produced these days. Ok, not for library use, but well ;)
Therefore I don't think that it will really die. But also in
the discussion with Cory I came to the conclusion that I
should not invest to much time in the timekeeping stuff.
Especially, as I can not really automatise it entirely if I
do not want to add a full featured mail functionality to
scid. And I _never_ intended that. (Thats why I call
external mailers.)

Agree, especially if it is for a tournament where there
could be issues of time keeping.

Well, I actually use it for leisure play with a friend or
two. There, timekeeping is not an issue at all, it's just
"for fun".
To make long things short, I just hooked up with what's
already there in scid and "stamp" the game when it is synced
in. It is also registred with the current email manager, but
I'll leave the rest alone.
