I looked into building the pdf a bit.
There seem to be major problems at the moment.
Two constructs that are often used in the references are not possible
with latex:
Any itemization inside "Parmeters" or "Attributes" is too deeply nested
for latex.
Formulars in these places seem to be illegal for some reason.
Any ideas how to get around that?
Not using itemization would make the html docs much less readable imho.

"make latexpdf" in the doc directory.

The Spinx docs can be useful. Its likely that there will be LaTeX
errors
during the building, or crappy layout. The rst will require some
tweeking. It's a bit nasty but it's a trick to learn. Maybe you
can also
add some tricks that you learn to the README in the docs directory.
