I totally agree that there will be a "next big thing" in music arriving in
the next couple years. Be it what it may, emo does have a strong chance of
being that something. The question then arises: Do we (the strong emo
following of today) want emo to become mainstream? I want bands like Sunny
Day and Appleseed Cast and The Get Up Kids to be recognized for and
successful in what they do, but I also DONT want another outbreak of
everyone and their little brother claiming they are "emo" and running out
and buying a SDRE tee shirt. The fanbase for emo has grown immensely in the
past few years and Im sure it will continue to grow in the years to come. I
am just weary of the word "mainstream" when used in the same sentence as
emo. Mebbie im just too paranoid hehe. Just my 2 pennies. Sorry for all the
"quotations."

Tony.

"Encumbered forever by desire and ambition
There's a hunger still unsatisfied
Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon
Though down this road we've been so many times"
