I think the main reason that most people into emo (and just indie rock in
general) is because mainstream music, for the most part, is shit. Plain and
simple. And besides, where music is made for the almighty dollar and we have
Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, and N'Sync selling the little kids emotions
that are completely and utterly false, it's about time some people with the
six leeter word, T-A-L-E-N-T, got a little praise and a few bucks. A good
band makes songs that you like. A great band makes songs that make you think
or feel. And, sad as it may be, no one in the mainstream right now is doing
a very good job of either.
