My 2cents (if I may).

I'm in Mission Hills and I've got DSL from AT&T and my connection
drops A LOT! Sometimes a few times a day, others just a few times a
week. When it goes down it's only for a few seconds so I reckon it's
more to do with the quality of the signal in my area rather than AT&T
actually being down - although I got two thumbs up from them for
signal quality when signing up.

My Dad (in Chula Vista) has cable internet through Cox and he's not
had any problems.

As an aside when I signed up for my DSL and a landline to run it
through they spelled my name wrong. It's interesting to see how much
junk mail I get to that name despite my best intentions to mark the
right boxes on the form.
