Hitriston.

Cx2 has actually trased the person on the forum to a public server in
shicargo and a range of Ip addresses, so that's conclusively not you,
though as the person on the forum also had a go at cosmos mud that would've
been unlikely.

i'm sorry your server has been hacked and hope you can fix the issue.

Hello,
I know who sent the email. If you look at the header, it came from
TrekGames.net. Tristan Bussiere is the owner of TrekGames.net (and the
MUD Cosmos). (I am not sure if you all know how email headers work,
but the email was definitely sent from TrekGames.net.) While I do not
know if he sent it personally, he certainly needs to be smarter about
securing his VPS, or if he did send it, to show some maturity.
Here is part of the email header:

Received: from li127-90.members.linode.com ([69.164.212.90]
helo=trekgames.net)

by server1.ultrahost.us with esmtp (Exim 4.69)
(envelope-from ) id 1NiX92-0003nv-9c
for gamers@audyssey.org; Fri, 19 Feb 2010 13:00:04 -0500

Received: from Trekgames.net (trekgames.net [127.0.0.1])
by trekgames.net (Postfix) with SMTP id 729F3B1601

I know for a fact Tristan uses Linode, and owns the domain
TrekGames.net. I assure you all, my computers are secure, and he
spoofed the email using my Gmail address.

I am not sure if this is part of the recent attacks of spoofing Raul
has spoken of. To be sure of this, you can easily check the email
headers of future emails.

Thank you.

tristan showed several times he needed some understanding about servers
before indeed owning one, however.. this is a bit too far.

I feel very sorry about the immaturity level of such infantile attacks.
I hope he, as a server owner, either apologises or does what needs to be
done.
I will personally not go on list about my personal ideas as far as
reason is concerned.

the only thing i say is, ryan, we would never believe on such
immaturity, and i am speaking for myself and probably the whole list
now.

Not with the sort of offensive stuff that was being posted, said
person even got around the forum language filter, and after a warning.
I'm afraid we have to be strict on such matters, cryticising games is one
thing, but long wrants about how s//t a given game ande it's developer
are are quite another.

If the person is upset, well maybe they've learnt something.

Re: [Audyssey] Moderator's note, please read! New Version of Monopoly Released

2010-02-20 Thread Muhammed Deniz

Hi Mauricio,
Yeah, I think he might need a secure spam filter on his server, and always
knowing something before using it, is much better. Anyway I think we might
need to close this topic, as this topic is getting a bit off topic and its
praying the list guidelines.

Best of luck,
Muhammed.

tristan showed several times he needed some understanding about servers
before indeed owning one, however.. this is a bit too far.

I feel very sorry about the immaturity level of such infantile attacks.
I hope he, as a server owner, either apologises or does what needs to be
done.
I will personally not go on list about my personal ideas as far as
reason is concerned.

the only thing i say is, ryan, we would never believe on such
immaturity, and i am speaking for myself and probably the whole list
now.

Hello,
I know who sent the email.

Received: from li127-90.members.linode.com ([69.164.212.90]
helo=trekgames.net)

by server1.ultrahost.us with esmtp (Exim 4.69)

Hello,
I know who sent the email.

Hi all,

Whoever did this is obviously very immature. We at RSGames would never
release a program that would crash one's system, and we have a standard for
releasing high quality games. We also try to be open to suggestions and
constructive criticism. This was just uncalled for. There is also no new
release of Monopoly as of yet. Please disregard the message. Thanks.

Re: [Audyssey] ** Moderator's note ** Please read **

2006-04-01 Thread Raul A. Gallegos
I did consider that and would hope that we all either get a laugh or not
but in either case we will go back to gaming topics for Sunday April 2
and on. . In the mean time I cannot come down on anyone for
posting a reply to this thread since I am the one who started it in the
first place. . Wait, I can come down on me. OK Raul, stop this
off-topic posting immediately! . If you continue this you will
have to be put on moderated status. I really should lay off the boos on
this Saturday, the last day of standard time.

OK, now back to gaming.

I just received an email that we have exceeded the list's email quota.
This really saddens me because when we switched to tthis web hosting
place they told me that an average of 300 subscribers would not be an
issue for the amount of traffic we would generate.

Now I get a notice of bandwidth reached. We either need to move the list
back to yahoogroups or we need to limit the messages to 5 per day.

I personally rather would go with 5 per day as that would at least allow
us to stay off of yahoogroups.com. Further more it would make the
moderator's job a lot easier because we would have less maintenance to
deal with.

Re: [Audyssey] ** Moderator's note ** Please read **

2006-04-01 Thread Thomas Ward
From the moderation level we had seen better mail interfaces such as
mailman. Yahoo's mailing list interface and options were felt to be less
than ideal. One case in example is that we can now block faked emails at
the ip level without having to block the address. This means people like
Michael Fair who unjustly had his address stolen and used for spam can
use this list unmoderated while the spammers who stole and abuses his
address are blocked.
We now have better and tighter control over spam filtering, greater
security, and the added advantage of having the list and web site rolled
in to one package.

2006-04-01 Thread Raul A. Gallegos
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

I just received an email that we have exceeded the list's email quota.
This really saddens me because when we switched to tthis web hosting
place they told me that an average of 300 subscribers would not be an
issue for the amount of traffic we would generate.

Now I get a notice of bandwidth reached. We either need to move the list
back to yahoogroups or we need to limit the messages to 5 per day.

I personally rather would go with 5 per day as that would at least allow
us to stay off of yahoogroups.com. Further more it would make the
moderator's job a lot easier because we would have less maintenance to
deal with.
