That code is a little tricky, but I have done some changes in trunk and the labels are now correct at least for plug-ins that register their menu entries using the gimp_plugin_menu_register() API. > (2) am I the ony person bothered by having two entries for New in > the file menu? Ideally if you minimized the last open image, the toolbox and docks would minimize with it. Unfortunately this only works if you enable "transient-docks" and this setting has other issues. [Gimp-developer] some minor nits
Not clear these are bugs, I'll gladly file bugs for them if it will help. (1) filters->recently used has a list of recnetly used fiters; these menu items bringup dialogue boxes, so they should have "..." after the names, and don't. (2) am I the ony person bothered by having two entries for New in the file menu? They should probably be combined. (3) if I have an image open, and minimise/iconify it, I now have no way to create a new file, except by opening the image again. File->new from an image window copies the characteristics of that window, too, so I now find myself creating grayscale images all the time. Please can we have the menus available from the right mouse button at least, in the toolbox drop area? [Gimp-developer] ANNOUNCE: GIMP 2.5.4 development release
Hi, GIMP 2.5.4 has been released yesterday. The source code can be downloaded from ftp.gimp.org or one of the many mirrors listed at http://gimp.org/downloads/ This is expected to be the last release before the stable GIMP 2.6.0 release. We should be very careful now not to introduce new bugs. There are only a handful of bugs left that need to be addressed before 2.6 and I hope that we can push 2.6.0 out before the end of this month. There is still a lot to do though. It would be nice if we could get the gimp.org web-site prepared for 2.6. Martin is working on release notes as far as I know. But I am sure he will appreciate your help. Some new screenshots for http://gimp.org/screenshots/ would be nice as well. If you want to help, please offer your help on this list or join #gimp on irc.gimp.org. Translation updates would also be very much appreciated. If you want to help, please contact your translation team at http://l10n.gnome.org/teams/ Don't worry in case your translation does not make it into 2.6.0. There are going to be regular 2.6 maintainance releases. Changes in GIMP 2.5.4 = - improved look and feel of the Navigation dialog and navigation popups - improved positioning of the image in the image window - by default turned off use of GEGL for color operations - moved the "Use GEGL" checkbox to the Debug menu - optimized the new scaling code - various fixes to the Python bindings - added Python bindings for most GIMP widgets to the gimpui module - merged GimpHRuler and GimpVRuler classes into GimpRuler - added Search entry to the Keyboard Shortcuts and Input Controller configuration dialogs - allow to drop images (in addition to URIs) on the empty image window - improved error handling in Script-Fu - merged upstream TinyScheme changes into Script-Fu interpreter - bug fixes and code cleanup Contributors: Sven Neumann, Michael Natterer, Martin Nordholts, Tor Lillqvist, Lars-Peter Clausen, Michael Schumacher, Kevin Cozens, LightningIsMyName, David Gowers, Dennis Ranke ___ Gimp-developer mailing list Gimp-developer@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-developer

And there are no proper Makefile rules for this step. Instead they are generated when you run autogen.sh. So, unlike in other projects, in GEGL you may have to rerun autogen.sh after you updated your source tree. It would certainly be nice if someone could fix this. Too big fonts were a problem for us who use western characters, because they used a lot of screen space and now the more compact dialogs look much better. But that seems to be a problem for systems with eastern characters. So this patch will indeed make everyone happy. Font antialiasing is not sane in some circumstances -- it simply blurs the glyphs in these cases. For example, complex characters as shown in Choi's screenshot. if there is SIGNIFICANT detail in antialiasing, then the font is too small. if there is NOT significant detail in antialiasing, the font should also look ok without antialiasing. I would also argue that turning off antialiasing makes virtually everything more readable, even when the glyphs are simple. Anyway! The appropriate solution to this may be to package a simple alternate theme which makes the offending fonts larger, and install this theme if the language might require it (eg Japanese, Chinese, Korean) David ___ Gimp-developer mailing list Gimp-developer@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-developer

Re: [Gimp-developer] Font are small of tool-box in gimp 2.5.4
Hi, Sven Now I know. But in some environments, it's not convenient. If your system supports cleartype fonts, it may be good, but if not and you use non-english, it'll be very bad. I think this matter is a big problem enough to give up to use GIMP. In my case, I'm used to GIMP UI, and I love GIMP. but I think I'll not like and will not use GIMP 2.6.x, because of just the font size. -_-; so.. I hope you consider once more, please. :) -- 〓〓〓 Choi, JiHui http://Mr-Dust.pe.kr http://GIMP.kr, http://OpenOffice.or.kr, http://Ubuntu.or.kr ___ Gimp-developer mailing list Gimp-developer@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-developer
