[Gimp-user] gtk version for gimp 2.3.0
Hi, What is the minimal requirement on the gtk/glib front for gimp 2.3.0 ? I have gtk 2.4.6 and since my computer has no internet access, upgrading libraries is a real pain... Also, I do not want to download 15MiB of archive from work to read after that in the install file that I cannot use it ;) Thanks, Olivier ___ Gimp-user mailing list Gimp-user@lists.xcf.berkeley.edu http://lists.xcf.berkeley.edu/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user
[Gimp-user] recording of commands
I've been through the release notes/ news for gimp 2.3. No changes conserning beeing able to work with set of commands to record and perform on several pictures? And maybe it's a silly question, not knowing nothing about programming, but couldn't it be made possible to mark more than one picture and then perform commands simultaniously? Or am I dreaming of the impossible? kristin -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. [Gimp-user] Inserting images
Hi, It might appeal stupid (or not) to some people here, but how do you insert images? The thing I do is open another window with the image that I want, and copy and paste. Is there an easier way? Thnx in advance. Erica
[Gimp-user] Window issue
I am currently experiencing problems with the GIMP Deweirdifyer plug-in. It claims to make GIMP stay in one window, one icon in the task bar, but it doesn't. I am using Windows XP with GIMP v2.2.7 and the description in the official GIMP plug-ins site says it supports XP. It only shows the background window that was supposed to handle the GIMP windows, but the GIMP's toolbox and windows were still in a different window. Does anyone know how to fix this, or is the plug-in really non-working?

Is there an easier way? Thnx in advance. Erica You can use drag and drop: - Drag and drop to the toolbox creates a new window. You can drag from the Layer, Channels ... window (the layer thumbnails) or from the windows explorer (the file manager) - Drag and drop to an image window will create a new layer in the image containing the dragged content. As previously, you can drag from the windows explorer or from Gimp thumbnails. So in you case, the easiest way is to drag from the windows explorer into you image window. Better not using it if you do not want to have unexpected crashes or weird situations (like windows still visible that do not actually exist if I remember correctly). RE: [Gimp-user] Window issue
I experienced the same thing... I just uninstalled it and went back to default Wingimp. -Original Message-From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]On Behalf Of Erica De JesusSent: Wednesday, May 18, 2005 1:03 PMTo: GIMP-user Mailing ListSubject: [Gimp-user] Window issueI am currently experiencing problems with the GIMP Deweirdifyer plug-in. [Gimp-user] Editing .ico files
An MS Windows desktop icon is in the .ico format. It means Icon format. A .ico format is well known too, as it is almost every icon's format. How can I edit a .ico file in the Gimp? My version (2.06 on FreeBSD) does not recognise them at present. -- Christopher Dawkins Garnetts Corner, Braintree Road, Felsted, Dunmow, Essex CM6 3DS [EMAIL PROTECTED] 07816 821659 01371 821076 ___ Gimp-user mailing list Gimp-user@lists.xcf.berkeley.edu http://lists.xcf.berkeley.edu/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user
RE: [Gimp-user] Editing .ico files
You could create a BMP file and then use a BMP to ICO converter. Here is a webpage that does the conversion for you: http://www.html-kit.com/e/favicon.cgi Just rename favicon to whatever filename you want. I think the BMP needs to be a certain mode (e.g. 24bit?) before it can convert to ICO. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Christopher Dawkins Sent: Wednesday, May 18, 2005 2:27 PM To: gimp-user@lists.xcf.berkeley.edu Subject: [Gimp-user] Editing .ico files An MS Windows desktop icon is in the .ico format. Thanks for the advice then. I actually went back to the original GIMP. A hundred windows are better than an unstable app. :-)
