[NTG-context] Defined command troubles
Hi, I just want to define a shortcut for framedtexts... That's it: \def\important{\dodoubleempty\doimportant} \def\doimportant[#1][#2]{\bgroup \ifsecondargument \startframedtext[background=#2,frame=off,width=broad]% #1 \else \startframedtext[background=screen,frame=off,width=broad]% #1 \fi \stopframedtext \egroup} It works perfectly with \important[Anything] but not with \important[Anything][red]. By the other hand, I want to define 'important' for use with start and end (startimportant ... \stopimportant) and not with single command. How can I get it? What you have reported there is not a bug. After installing ConTeXt, you need to run (luatools --generate) as a normal user; only then mtx-contex.lua will be found. The need to run luatools --generate is not sufficiently visible (it is in README.MarkIV). Any package that requires user configuration steps should have a mechanism to inform the user that such steps are required. I suspect the damage was already done by the time the OP tried luatools --generate , and was perhaps made worse by running the command from a root prompt. In your case, running luatools --generate does not help, and that is the bug. You are right, but with a system like context it is sometimes better to avoid stressing the tools by following standard procedures. The OP ended up with /etc/texmf/web2c/pdftex, which suggests that MkII and/or fmtutil tried to install formats under /etc/texmf/web2c. It may be too much to expect luatools to recover when things are not where they belong and files under $HOME are not owned by the user. Thanks George of confirming the bug. In my opinion, the context package has to be ready for running. No intervention of user should be needed. For the other hand, I have problems running luatools, so we have a bug: or the first or the second. Why we need {} for embed tables and not for embed itemizes in itemizes for example? It has to do with the way how TABLE is implemented, each cell is defined as \def\bTD#1\eTD{...} this means when TeX sees a \bTD in the input it grabs everything till the \eTD, let's take a loo at this example \bTABLE \bTR \bTD \bTABLE \bTR \bTD text \eTD \eTR \eTABLE \eTD \eTR \eTABLE The \bTD from the outer table reads everything till the \eTD from the inner table and what ends up as real content for the table cell where you wanted another table is \bTABLE \bTR \bTD text As you can see the \bTD as delimiting \eTD to end the cell and this is what cause the error message you get. The braces ({...}) as suggested from the others help in this case because the hide the \eTD from the outer table and buffers as suggested from Taco are another way to get around this. It does not work: the same problem Xan. Even with no math I get the same error: \startmydefinition Siguin $G$ un grup, $X$ un conjunt finit de generadors de $G$, $\sigma \colon G \to {(X \cup X^{-1})}^*$ una secció i $k \geq 0$. [NTG-context] verbosity of context
Hi, Is there any option for setting the verbosity of context? In LaTeX, if someone passes an optional argument to command, it stops.
