Title: Re: [T/N: 7232C0F3]: Upgrading The Bat! G'day Richard, Apologies for the way this comes through, but while the upgrade has gone through without a hitch as far as my message base and filters are concerned, my message templates have become horribly screwed up, hence the poor format of this message. To give you an idea of what is going on, here is what my reply template ends up being when I somply press the reply button. G'day +ACU-CapitalFirst+AD0AJQ-OFromFName, +ACU-QInclude+AD0AIg-Reply+AF8-Ref+ACI +ACU-NOReadConfirm+ACU-Cursor+ACU-Quotes +ACU-QInclude+AD0AIg-Signature+AF8-TB+ACI +ACU-QInclude+AD0AIg-The+AF8-Bat+AF8-Beta+AF8-Discussion+AF8-Signature+ACI +ACU-QInclude+AD0AIg-TB+AF8-Headers+ACI +ACU-SetEditor+AD0-1 +ACU-QInclude+AD0AIg-Default+AF8-Delay+ACI- Now, those up with everything will know whats going however I have not the foggiest idea as to what the +ACU- and +ACI means and why it is there. You can see what it was supposed to show from my previous message in this thread. Basically I have used separate quick templates that can be used across multiple folders and groups and then they get called up as %QT in a particular group etc. This way, if I need to change something, I only have to do it once and it ends up automatically across all the groups that use it. Anyone have any idea as to why this change has happened? Thanks. I am going to enter a sigdash even though I have no signature as I am mot a big fish eater. Well, you know what I mean :D Hopefully it comes down this time as the other thing is that it lost the from setting and used my default. One other thing is I have lost the message list tabs and am having to ferret around to find out how to get them back. I was trying to get rid of all the unnecessary windows like the quick reply window and the one at the root of an account. Much better to access them from menus and toolbars. That will learn me. Hello Ian, > I need to preserve the existing message database and apart from a > separate copy of the messages and then doing Backup through the Tools > menu, is there any thing I need to do? In addition to the TB internal backup of your message database and settings, I would do a full backup of TB program files and data files. I would then uninstall TB and the message database so you can install 9.3.4 fresh without any possible corruptions that may have happened in between. Once your new 9.3.4 is installed you should be able to use TB's restore to restore your message database, address book and settings. This should avoid any quirky differences that may exist between 4.2 and 9.3.4. The full backup of TB program and dataa files will allow you to return to your pre-9.3.4 state just in case things do not go as smoothly as we both think they should. Hello Peter, Yes, indeed. It will mark the messages out of range as deleted, and with the next Purge and compress they will be actually deleted. PR It strikes me this could be somewhat inconvenient. Why is that? My previous MUA had that capability. While there was at least one message in a thread that was younger than the setting for that account/folder, it would not delete any messages in the thread. Hello Stefan, Then you should park the threads you are interested in. This way, messages won't get deleted by purging. No, parking is not the solution for what Paul (and others like me) is looking for. Parking is the solution if I want to keep the thread for ever (or a very long time), but then it takes manually un-parking the thread. What we would be looking for, as I had it in Virtual Access, is that if I set a folder to keep messages for 30 days, no thread will be deleted if the it has at least one message that is less than 30 days old. Auto-save every N sec feature
In The Bat! 1.63i when I go to Options | Editor Preferences | General there is this setting: Auto-save every [0 ] sec Is this setting for saving a message that you are composing every N seconds? If yes, where does it save the message you are composing? When I click Help in the Editor Preferences tab, there is no information about this feature. -- Using The Bat! v1.62i on Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 1 Current version is 1.62 | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Hallo Jernej and Brano, JS Type dashdashspaceenter in the template. Even though it will JS not look like there is a space at the end, there will be (just don't JS fiddle with the -- line after that). Thats what Ive done, putting the cursor to the beginning of the line and pressing 'end' will put the cursor correctly after dashdashspace, so there definatly is a dashdashspacenewline. I actually didnt want to use external files in the first way, so if no one can suggest a solution Ill try the external file. (PS, I just manually put a space down there :) Ciao Nick -- / Nick Panienski - GfD IT-Kommunikation / Dipl. Ing. Hallo Jernej, JS End will always miss the last space. Select with mouse, and you'll see JS it. You missunderstood me, in the 'Templates' 'End' really stops behind the space. I just created a draft, seeing that in my drafts the space is not missing. So this really must be a problem of our smtp server / virus scanner. This sucks. [re: Maillita] I had a quick look and while I am buzy fixing up 3 computers I did notice that the guy who wrote it must be Dutch. yep, i noticed that too. some filenames in the package are Dutch. also the Maillita homepage was with a Dutch provider (dds.nl). I wouldnt mind having a go through some Ducth contacts to see if its possible to track down this likely ex-student... i had a look around and found someone with the same name who studies/studied at Wageningen University ... not IT related though, but something agricultural. the info is from 1996 ... btw ; i contacted the author of X-Ray about english documentation and he said he would translate the Russian docs. within the next few days ... he also asked if someone could proofread them. i could do it, but English is not my native language (i'm Dutch), so if any of you is interested ? -- Rob -- -- View the TBUDL archive at http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com To send a message to the list moderation team double click here: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe from TBUDL, double click here and send the message: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] --

Hello, The Bat Users! Another program is X-Ray (http://xraysoft.cjb.net/) do you know if there's a translation of whatever the readme.txt of that package is written in ?? (i guess it's Russian ...)
